Epson XP-420 Wireless Setup & Driver Update

If this is your first time dealing with Epson XP-420 wireless setup, no need to worry. The overall process may seem technical and complicated, but it isn’t that excessively difficult.

As an all-in-one small printer, the XP420 uses color with inkjet technology for crisp and bright results. Not only it can print, but it can also copy documents and scan in color as well as in black and white.

The inks are DuraBrite Ultra supporting individual hues, like yellow, black, magenta, and cyan. The color quality is known to be durable and premium, and it can also help you save operational cost.

The Printer Setup

When you want to manage the Epson XP-420 wireless setup, you need to check these things first:

  • On your printer, you should be able to see buttons for accessing the wireless setting
  • Check whether you already have a (wireless) network established. And make sure that it already activates.
  • You should know the network’s name or the SSID.
  • And then check the security setting, including the password. You will need all of the information to manage the wireless connection. Otherwise, you won’t be able to set it up between the network and your printer. If you are clueless about the SSID or the security setting, find the information from those who set your network’s setting and management.

Managing the Wireless Network Setting

Do you know that you can manage Epson XP-420 wireless setup from the printer’s control panel?

  • Simply press the Home button (having the icon Home)
  • To maneuver the panel, there is the right and left arrow button. You need to choose the WiFi Setup and then OK. And you will see this display screen containing several options of WiFi Setup Wizard, PIN Code Setup, Push Button Setup, WiFi Auto Connect, and WiFi Direct (Routerless) Setup.
  • Go with the WiFi Setup Wizard
  • Use the arrow button for going down or up so you can pick the wireless network’s name. And then choose OK.
  • In the event you don’t see the name, manually provide it. To do so, choose Other SSIDs and OK. And then provide the name.
  • Provide the wireless password. You can also provide the name first and then the password.
  • Press OK for WiFi settings confirmation
  • If you want to print out the network (status) report, choose Yes, and then OK, and then click the start button.
  • You should be able to see the WiFi icon on the upper left side corner. If you don’t see the icon, it’s highly likely that you choose the wrong network name or you provide the incorrect password. You can repeat the steps again.

  • Choose the arrow buttons so you can highlight a function button or a character. To pick it, go with OK.
  • If you want to choose symbols or change the letters’ case, go with AB12 (for the uppercase) or ab12 (for the lowercase).
  • To space out the letters, pick Space and then OK
  • If you want to delete characters, choose the back arrow and then OK
  • After you are done with the characters, choose Done and follow it with OK

The WiFi Direct Mode

If you choose this mode, it means that you can connect your printer to the computer (or another device) without the wireless router.

  • Choose the icon Home
  • Choose WiFi Setup and then OK. Again, you will see this display screen containing several options of WiFi Setup Wizard, PIN Code Setup, Push Button Setup, WiFi Auto Connect, and WiFi Direct (Routerless) Setup.
